The DaHo Hollow Spectra Threading Needles are designed for joining monofilament or fluorocarbon lines to hollow spectra braid. These needles are hollow except at the tip, allowing the mono/fluoro line to be inserted into the needle and then threaded inside the spectra braid. For optimal strength, the needle is typically threaded 3-5 feet into the spectra. The connection is secured by finishing the spectras end with glue, serving, crimping, or a combination, to prevent slipping before the braid compresses around the line.
Features and Sizing:
- Length-Based Identification: Daho’s needles are sized by length for easy selection:
- Smallest size (10-20#) is 5.3″ long.
- Each subsequent size is 0.1″ longer, up to 6.5″ for the largest size (400-500#).
- Internal Diameter (ID): The ID determines the line size the needle can hold.
- Choose a needle with an ID at least 0.002″ larger than your monofilament/fluorocarbon line for ease of use.
Line Compatibility:
- Check your monofilament/fluorocarbon line diameter on the spool or manufacturers website.
- Select a needle that matches your line size with 0.002″ extra space.
- Avoid using a needle too small for your line, as trimming the line to fit can be difficult.
Manufacturing Advantage:
DaHo needles use thin-walled tubing to maximize the internal space for mono/fluoro lines while keeping the overall needle size minimal. These are the thinnest threading needles available, ensuring precision and ease of use.

*Remember that the ID sizes of our threading needles can vary up to .002 due to the tube manufacturing process. It is recommended that you select a needle that is at least .002 larger than your line for ease of use. It can also be difficult to fit an exact size of line into a needle. Ifyou have a problem with your line not fitting into one of our needles, please send us an email and we will analyze and resolve the problem.
